"We've got Mail!" • SOKA Kindergarten
Objectives
- To develop friendship among children in a fun and meaningful way through letter writing
- To nurture responsibility in children through the process of mail delivery
This on-going project has been taking place in Soka Kindergarten since 2001. This year is the 15th year that we are doing this, and the children are still as excited as the children 15 years ago!
Building Friendship

We design and create our class and level “Letter Boxes”. They are named after our
classrooms
and corridor names, so that we can associate the concept of name, address and
class.

We write to many people – first to our friends in the class, our friends from
other levels and
even teachers, administrative clerks, mummies and daddies, and
Guests of Honour for our
school events! If we are in nursery class, we can draw pictures.

We look forward to receiving letters! Sometimes, the letter comes with
lots of stickers from our teachers. Sometimes, letters from
our mummies and daddies come through the real mailbox.
