Engagement
What is engagement?
Engagement is the ability to stay focused and be deeply interested and actively involved in learning. Some child-friendly slogans are:
- Stay focused
- Be involved
- Enjoy learning
Why is engagement important?
Engagement helps children to pay attention, enjoy learning and be motivated to learn. They will then take ownership of their learning and do the best they can.
How can you nurture engagement in your children?
How might children exhibit engagement?
Here are some examples of how children might demonstrate engagement through their actions, speech and behaviour:
- Pay attention and are actively involved in an activity.
